A 74-year-old woman died in a single-vehicle crash in Bedford County on Thursday, March 26, according to Virginia State Police.
The crash occurred shortly after 4 a.m. on Big Island Highway, near Rush Mountain Trail.

We’re told 74-year-old Geraldine Irene McLeod, of Big Island, was driving south in a 2006 Ford Ranger when she ran off the right side of the road and hit a large boulder. She died at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
