Roanoke city announces holiday trash schedule

ROANOKE (WSLS 10) - The City of Roanoke says its offices will be closed on Thursday and Friday, Nov. 27 and 28, for the Thanksgiving holiday. 

As a result, all residents and business owners are asked to place their trash containers, large piles of brush, paper recycling and paper bagged leaves out one day in advance than your normal schedule.

Below is a list of the solid waste collection schedule.

If your normal collection day is:

  • Monday, Nov. 24 - trash, large piles of brush, paper recycling and paper bagged leaves will be collected on schedule
  • Tuesday, Nov. 25 - trash, large piles of brush, paper recycling and paper bagged leaves will be collected on Monday
  • Wednesday, Nov. 26 - trash, large piles of brush, paper recycling and paper bagged leaves will be collected on Tuesday
  • Thursday, Nov. 27 - trash, large piles of brush, paper recycling and paper bagged leaves will be collected on Wednesday

The Central Business District will be worked on schedule all week, with the exception of Thanksgiving Day; No CBD collection provided on Nov. 27. CBD collection resumes on Nov. 28.

Those CBD customers that are normally serviced on Thursday mornings will be serviced on Wednesday Nov. 26.
