Motorcycle driver hospitalized after Lynchburg crash

LYNCHBURG, Va. – One person is in the hospital with life-threatening injuries after a crash in Lynchburg Wednesday afternoon.

Police officers and emergency crews responded to the intersection of Main Street and Walnut Street at 4:30 p.m. for a crash involving a Honda Odyssey minivan and a Yamaha motorcycle.

The driver of the motorcycle was ejected and taken to the Lynchburg General Emergency Department for potentially life-threatening injuries, according to police.

The motorcycle was traveling west on Main Street when it collided with the minivan as the minivan was turning left from Main Street onto Walnut Street, according to police.

Main Street was closed for about an hour during the investigation and has since reopened.

The Lynchburg Police Department Traffic Unit is continuing to investigate the crash.
