God's Pit Crew expanding its Blessing Bucket ministry

Renovation underway inside organization's warehouse

DANVILLE, Va. – God's Pit Crew is expanding.

On Friday, volunteers helped organize and did some minor updates to the organization's warehouse.

Volunteers started Thursday and will continue Saturday.

With an increasing demand for Blessing Buckets, the organization needs more space for its Blessing Bucket ministry.

The buckets are disaster relief kits filled with essential supplies, like toiletries and food.

"We've got a lot of demolition and construction going on. We have new lighting going in, we've got old duct work going out. We've got old offices being torn out," said Blessing Bucket coordinator Julie Burnett.

Burnett said 15,000 buckets were given out in 2016 and several thousand have already been given out in 2017.
