Man dies after pickup runs off road, strikes tree, overturns in Halifax County

Happened on Route 607 south of Route 746

HALIFAX COUNTY, Va. – State police have released the name of the 36-year-old Scottsburg man who died in Tuesday night's crash in Halifax County.

David Williams was driving a 1994 Ford Ranger when he ran off the left side of Route 607, around 6:40 p.m., struck an embankment, then struck a tree and overturned.

Williams was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the truck. He died at the scene. 

The crash remains under investigation.

One person is dead after a crash in Halifax County on Tuesday.

A pickup truck crashed and overturned at the intersection of Mount Laurel Road and Rodgers Chapel Road. 

State police are currently investigating this single-vehicle crash.

Police have not yet released any details identifying the victim.
