BLACKSBURG, Va. – Virginia Tech will have more holes to fill on defense in 2018 after Terrell and Tremaine Edmunds announced Wednesday that they will declare for the NFL Draft.

Terrell, a redshirt junior, started 31 games in his career. He totaled 182 tackles, one and a half sacks, six interceptions and blocked one kick. He ended the 2017 season following the Georgia Tech game, after deciding to undergo surgery on an ailing left shoulder. Edmunds also made huge contributions to Tech's special teams unit during his time in Blacksburg.
Tremaine, the youngest brother of a trio of talent from Danville, has gained national attention the past two seasons. The 6-foot-5, 250-pound linebacker has started every game for Virginia Tech in 2016 and 2017. Edmunds finished as a finalist for the Butkus Award, given to the nation's top linebaker, this past season. He totaled 226 tackles (35 for loss), 10 sacks, one interception and four forced fumbles.
This is a huge blow to Bud Foster's defense after already losing Tim Settle to the draft, and saying goodbye to seniors Greg Stroman, Brandon Facyson and Andrew Motuapuaka.
The eldest Edmunds brother, Trey, is a current member of the New Orleans Saints.
