Bassett beats defending champ William Byrd 44-35 in Region 3D clash

Two-time defending Region 3D champion William Byrd faced off against Bassett in a thrilling game.

The Bengals struck first when David Cook threw a touchdown pass to Jashaun Turner on the opening play, putting Bassett up 7-0.

Byrd quickly responded with a touchdown run by Jamez Toler, tying the game at 7-7.

Cook then connected on a deep pass to Keelan Price-Kent, giving Bassett a 14-7 lead with 8:56 left in the first quarter.

William Byrd’s defense made a key play when they sacked Bassett quarterback David Cook, forcing a field goal attempt.

Despite the back-and-forth action, Bassett ultimately won the high-scoring game 44-35.
