Pulaski County falls to Staunton River 42-21 in historic loss

Pulaski County returned to action at home after a bye week, facing Staunton River in a highly anticipated matchup. The Golden Eagles were aiming for back-to-back wins for the first time this season.

The game started with the Mighty Cougars striking first. Carter Wilson ran it in for a 5-yard touchdown, giving Staunton River an early 7-0 lead.

Staunton River answered quickly with a 25-yard touchdown run by Jaydon Bonds, tying the game at 7-7.

Pulaski County responded with strong ground game action. Maddox Thompson broke free for a 52-yard run, putting the Golden Eagles back in front.

Trying to stay competitive, Pulaski County’s Patrick Chewning rolled out and connected with Grayson Sheets, who dove in for a touchdown.

Despite Pulaski County’s efforts, Staunton River went on to secure a historic victory, beating Pulaski County for the first time ever with a final score of 42-21.
