A pair of Game 4s await as the NBA’s conference semifinals continue Sunday.

Danville police said at approximately 3:48 Saturday morning, investigators went to the 700 block of Stokes Street for calls of a person being shot. Officers found 19-year-old Danville native Ja’Quise De’Juan Beard on the sidewalk with a gunshot wound. Beard was treated at the scene and taken to SOVAH Danville Emergency Room where he was later died.

CLIFTON FORGE, Va. – A local business is trying to help others make money for themselves. Occam’s Mill opened in the Clifton Forge School of the Arts at the start of the coronavirus pandemic. The mill’s owner, Mac Beard, has created a maker’s space where people can use the mill’s wood carving technology to create products that they can sell. “It’s very apparent that there’s no teaching without learning, these guys teach me something every day,” said Beard. A portion of the rental fee will help support the Clifton Forge School of the Arts.
