WASHINGTON The Supreme Court is declining to revive a lawsuit by supporters of Sen. Bernie Sanders who sued the Democratic National Committee in 2016 over claims officials improperly tipped the scales for Hillary Clinton during the nominating process. The justices said Monday they would not take up the lawsuit. As is usual the court did not comment in turning away the case. The lawsuit was filed after leaked DNC emails suggested Democratic party officials had favored Clinton over the Vermont senator during the primaries. The lawsuit by Sanders supporters was dismissed at an early stage and an appeals court had upheld the dismissal.

Citizenship and Immigration Services Director Ken Cuccinelli over the Trump administration's immigration policies Wednesday amid speculation that he's being considered to become the new acting Homeland Security secretary. "After declaring that I'm not a white supremacist, as you alluded," Cuccinelli said. Cuccinelli maintained that he made the decision alone, but conceded he thought it was a "mistake to implement this on a retroactive basis." Instead, USCIS said it would defer discretion for deportation relief to Immigration and Customs Enforcement. "Elijah Cummings had unmatched integrity, wisdom. Wasserman Schultz said the late congressman was a mentor and that he constantly "put his community and the cause above everything else -- including himself."
