The 2003 Oscars are remembered as the "creepiest" in history for Harvey Weinstein, Roman Polanski, and a nonconsensual kiss between Adrien Brody and Halle Berry.

The view from above the Oscars: The slap, the snafu, Spike

An Associated Press reporter has spent the past several years watching from an opera box that gives him a unique perspective on the audience at the Oscars.

Jimmy Kimmel signs 3-year extension for ABC late-night show

Jimmy Kimmel is celebrating his 20th anniversary as ABCโ€™s late-night host early, signing a three-year contract extension for โ€œJimmy Kimmel Live!โ€.

A sweep for โ€˜Schittโ€™s Creek,โ€™ โ€˜Successionโ€™ tops Emmy Awards

(The Television Academy and ABC Entertainment via AP)LOS ANGELES โ€“ โ€œSchitt's Creek,โ€ the little Canadian show about a fish-out-of-water family, made history at Sunday's Emmy Awards with a comedy awards sweep, something even TV greats including โ€œFrasierโ€ and โ€œModern Familyโ€ failed to achieve. The awards for Pop TV's โ€œSchitt's Creekโ€ included best comedy series and trophies for its stars, including Catherine O'Hara and father-son Eugene and Daniel Levy. Moments later, his son won the award for comedy writing for โ€œSchitt's Creekโ€ episode, then shared a directing award and captured the supporting actor comedy trophy. As โ€œSchittโ€™s Creekโ€ gobbled up comedy awards, that left acclaimed โ€œInsecureโ€ and its creator Issa Rae empty-handed. But Black stories, Black performances and Black Lives Matter,โ€ he said, urging Kimmel to shout with him.

Oops, says Emmy: 'This Is Us' actor gets award after mix-up

(The Television Academy via AP)LOS ANGELES โ€“ In a virtual Emmys version of the wrong-winner Oscars gaffe, Ron Cephas Jonesโ€™ guest actor award for โ€œThis Is Usโ€ was announced for another nominee, Jason Bateman. In a voice-over announcement, Bateman was declared the winner for his guest appearance on HBO's โ€œThe Outsider,โ€ while the screen displayed Jones' name. He expressed delight when learning that the pair made Emmy history as the first father and daughter to win in the same year. More than 100 cameras are being deployed to nominees at home and elsewhere so winners can accept their award in real time. Other winners Saturday included Eddie Murphy, whose return to โ€œSaturday Night Liveโ€ after more than three decades earned the star his first Emmy Award, for guest comedy series actor.

2017: The year in entertainment

A shocking blunder at the Academy Awards this year led to Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway announcing the wrong winner for best picture. "Moonlight" was the winner, while "La La Land" was originally announced.
