One year after Congress approved major changes to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, enrollment in Virginia has dropped by more than 100,000 people compared with the same time last year — and advocates say families and the organizations that feed them are feeling the pressure.

Food Lion Feeds, Food Lion’s hunger-relief platform, announced on Tuesday that they are assisting six food pantries throughout Virginia.
