Alex Bowman and William Byron swept the front row Wednesday night in qualifying for the Daytona 500, giving Hendrick its 14th pole and sixth in the last seven years. It's a testament to these guys and everybody back at the shop at Hendrick Motorsports,โ Bowman said. Only the front row was set Wednesday, the first time Daytona 500 qualifying has been held at night under a condensed Speedweeks schedule. The 40-car field is determined through both time trials and a pair of Thursday night qualifying races. Byron bumped him first, then Bowman topped Byron.

The crew member did not test positive for COVID-19, so the rest of Christopher Bellโs crew was unchanged. French players tested positive, forcing tournament organizers to call off the match in Dublin to prevent further infections within the team. Also, one member of the Scottish squad tested positive on Thursday. This is the first time a Chargers player has tested positive since the leagueโs daily testing started during training camp.

Johnson cleared to race after 2 negative coronavirus tests
CHARLOTTE, N.C. Seven-time NASCAR champion Jimmie Johnson has twice tested negative for the coronavirus and has been cleared to race Sunday at Kentucky Speedway. Johnson missed the first race of his Cup career when he tested positive last Friday. He was tested after his wife received a positive result. Hendrick Motorsports said Johnson tested negative on Monday and Tuesday and will return to the No. Hendrick Motorsports had four crew members tested for COVID-19 after Johnson's diagnosis and all four received negative results.
Hendrick Motorsports recruiting high level athletes for their pit crew
CHARLOTTE, N.C.- - Hendrick Motorsports opened the doors for NBC affiliates on Tuesday for an up close and personal look. The pit crews for Jimmie Johnson and Chase Elliott were prepping for the race in Bristol on Saturday. The Wood brothers invented the modern day pit stop but Hendrick is credited with the recruitment of high level athletes to serve on the pit crews. "We need the physical attributes of a football player with the mentality of a golfer," Hendrick Motorsports director of human performance Andy Papathanassiou said. "Every swing, every tenth of a second, every swing of an entire weekend could count to how you finish at the end.
