The judge presiding over the federal case against five former Memphis police officers convicted in the fatal beating of Tyre Nichols has recused himself from further proceedings, just days before four of them were scheduled to be sentenced.

A cybercrime expert with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has testified that a former Memphis police officer charged in the fatal beating of Tyre Nichols took a photo of Nichols as he sat on the ground, propped up against a police car and struggling with serious injuries.
