The COVID-19 vaccine finally arrived at the Salem facility Tuesday morning as Walgreens delivered 344 doses of the Pfizer vaccine. About half of the doses went to long-term care residents while the remaining doses were given to staff at the facility. The vaccine is not mandatory for Richfield residents. โWeโre so excited to have 93% of our long-term care residents signed up to take this vaccine today,โ Grisso said.

The senior living center learned Tuesday afternoon that an employee tested positive for COVID-19. The employee is reported to live with a family member who tested positive this weekend after working in other local healthcare facilities in the area that have reported COVID-19 cases. So far, no Richfield residents on campus have tested positive. Not including the two residents who contracted COVID-19 in the hospital, Richfield says three residents total have tested negative.
