2014: Actor and comedian Robin Williams, 63, is found unresponsive at his residence in Marin County, California, and pronounced dead at the scene. Police later said that the actor, who reportedly had been seeking treatment for depression and previously had struggled with drug addiction, used a belt to hang himself from a bedroom door. Williams rose to fame on the sitcom "Mork & Mindy" before going on to a movie career that included films such as "Good Morning, Vietnam," "Dead Poets Society," "Awakenings," "The Fisher King," "Aladdin," "Mrs. Doubtfire" and "Good Will Hunting." He earned four Academy Award nominations, winning Best Supporting Actor for his role in "Good Will Hunting." He also received two Emmy Awards, four Golden Globes, two Screen Actors Guild Awards and five Grammy Awards in his career.
