You’d be hard pressed to find someone who wasn’t surprised to hear Kate Hudson’s name announced among the best actress nominees. That movie is called “Music,” a fantasy musical drama with Hudson, Leslie Odom Jr. and Maddie Ziegler that marks pop star Sia’s directorial debut. Lee’s acclaimed Vietnam drama “Da 5 Bloods” was expected to be a shoo-in for any number of categories: Best picture, best director, best actor for Delroy Lindo or supporting actor for Chadwick Boseman, who died last year.

Killer Mike to earn Change Maker Award at Billboard Awards
NEW YORK – Grammy-winning rapper and social-political activist Killer Mike will receive the first Billboard Change Maker Award at the 2020 Billboard Music Awards. Atlanta-born Killer Mike first made waves in music with his appearance on Outkast's 2000 album, “Stankonia." But Killer Mike has made noise outside of music, too. Last year he hosted Netflix's “Trigger Warning with Killer Mike," a 2019 documentary series about issues affected the Black community. The Billboard Change Maker Award will be presented by Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms at the African American Panoramic Experience Museum in Atlanta.
Pharrell, Beastie Boys, RZA, halftime show score Emmy nods
Super Bowl LIV Halftime Show Starring Jennifer Lopez And Shakira picked up four nominations, including outstanding variety special (live). It was not clear if Lopez and Shakira were specifically nominated, though past halftime singers, including Beyonc, Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars, have earned Emmy nominations as performers. For their work on Watchmen, they scored a second Emmy nomination for outstanding music composition for a limited series, movie or special. They earned nominations as producers for outstanding documentary or nonfiction special and as writers for outstanding writing for a nonfiction program. Jazz saxophonist Kamasi Washington, who composed music for the Michelle Obama documentary Becoming, picked up a nomination for outstanding music composition for a documentary series of special.
What is Ehlers-Danlos syndrome?
ATLANTA - Responding to a paparazzi photo that captured her walking with her cane, Lena Dunham explained she has Ehlers-Danlos syndrome -- a group of disorders affecting the joints and skin. "An Ehler-Danlos syndrome flare means that I need support from more than just my friends... so thank you, sweet cane!" Some claim the first description of the syndrome was by the Ancient Greek doctor Hippocrates in 400 BC. "Each type of EDS is a distinct disorder that 'runs true' in a family," the Ehlers-Danlos National Foundation says. "This means that an individual with Vascular Type EDS will not normally have a child with Classical Type EDS."
Sia thanks fans for saving her life following death her dog Pantera
(CNN) - Sia thanked fans on Saturday for sending supportive messages she says saved her life following the recent death of her beloved dog, Pantera. "You were my first born furry and you saved my life. Some tweeted photos of Sia and Pantera, while others shared their own experiences with losing a pet. "I figured I'd let you know that my greatest fear was Pantera dying," Sia tweeted on Saturday. The night he died, in the wee hours your messages and old photos helped me through it, sober and alive."
Sia has a neurological disease

The singer tweeted she has a neurological disease and is "suffering with chronic pain" due to Ehlers-Danlos syndrome. "I just wanted to say to those of you suffering from pain, whether physical or emotional, I love you, keep going," Sia tweeted. There are 13 types of Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, as of 2017, according to NIH. People with the "classical" form of the condition may experience wounds that leave scars that widen over time, the NIH states.
