The show must go on at Mill Mountain Theatre
ROANOKE, Va. โ The show must go on at Mill Mountain Theatre with some adjustments due to the COVID-19. After cancelling this yearโs performances in September due to the pandemic, Mill Mountain Theatre will return in the new year with some new shows. The 345-seat theater will be marked with signs limiting the available seating to only 40 percent. But with that said, all of these decisions for these particular shows in 2021 are very strategic,โ said Ginger Poole, the producing artistic director at Mill Mountain Theatre. In-person events will start late summer, but virtual performances will continue.
Local wood mill helping others create their own business
CLIFTON FORGE, Va. โ A local business is trying to help others make money for themselves. Occamโs Mill opened in the Clifton Forge School of the Arts at the start of the coronavirus pandemic. The millโs owner, Mac Beard, has created a makerโs space where people can use the millโs wood carving technology to create products that they can sell. โItโs very apparent that thereโs no teaching without learning, these guys teach me something every day,โ said Beard. A portion of the rental fee will help support the Clifton Forge School of the Arts.
