Tornado Watch canceled in our area

A watch means to prepare for possible severe weather. Take action when warnings are issued.

Tornado watch (WSLS 10)

Everything is all clear and the tornado watch has been canceled in our area.

The National Weather Service has issued a Tornado Watch until 10 p.m. Friday for the yellow-shaded counties in the map you see above.

Remember that a watch means severe weather/tornadoes are possible. If a warning is issued, that is when you take action.

Know the difference between and watch and a warning

The best place to be during a potential tornado is in a basement/lower level of your home. If you don’t have a basement, get into the central-most part of your home and away from windows.
