ORIGINAL STORY

The National Weather Service has issued a Tornado Watch until 10 p.m. Friday for the yellow-shaded counties in the map you see above.

Remember that a watch means severe weather/tornadoes are possible. If a warning is issued, that is when you take action.

Know the difference between and watch and a warning

The best place to be during a potential tornado is in a basement/lower level of your home. If you don’t have a basement, get into the central-most part of your home and away from windows.
