Cary Grant's Palm Springs hangout is on the market

'Villa Paradiso' listed at $13 million

A four-acre compound with a pool guest house built especially for Cary Grant is on the market in Palm Spring, California.

Dubbed "Villa Paradiso'' by the famed actor, the eight-bedroom, 14-bath property is located in Old Las Palmas, which boasts the largest celebrity population in Palm Springs. Past residents have included everyone from Leonardi De Caprio and Lily Tomlin to Elizabeth Taylor and Edward G. Robinson.

Built in 1928, Villa Paradiso has four separate residences, included the pool house built for Grant by then-owner Charlie 'Kewpie' Rich, a Las Vegas casino executive who was good friends with the actor. The one-bedroom guest house features a fireplace, bar, kitchen and two bathrooms.

Grant's daughter, the actress Jennifer Grant, recalled spending time at the Moorish-themed estate with the 17-inch-thick walls in her memoir, "Good Stuff."

"I learned to drive a golf cart and play putt-putt on that lawn. We stayed in the pool house, near the good-for-guppy-hunting pond and gorgeous rose gardens."

The four residences have a total of 15,000-square-feet of living space, including the 7,500-square-foot main house. There’s also a caretaker’s house and four-car, climate-controlled garage.

Private and secured, the notorious recluse Howard Hughes was a guest at 'Villa Paradiso' on occasion.Â
