AMHERST COUNTY (WSLS 10) - Five suspects have been arrested in connection to a string of church burglaries in Amherst County. 

The suspects were arrested December 30 after someone submitted a tip to the Amherst Co. Sheriff's Office.

Three of theses suspects were found inside the Bolling Hill Baptist Church and two additional suspects were found waiting in a vehicle there.

Adults arrested were:

  • Michael Jon Raynor III, 20, of Roseland
  • Chase Mackenzie King, 19, of Amherst
  • William Garrett Blevins, 19, of Madison Heights

Two juvenile females of Madison Heights were also arrested

The three adults were charged with burglary and property damage of the Bolling Hill Baptist Church and the Elon Presbyterian Church on Cedar Gate Road.

The Sheriff's Office says the investigation into the burglary and property damage to Fairmont Baptist Church on Stapleton Road, First Baptist Church of Coolwell Road and Rock Haven Ministries on Elon Road remain on going.

The suspects have also been tied to a burglary reported in the Town of Amherst, which is being investigated by police there.

The adult suspects are being held at the Amherst Adult Detention Center pending a preliminary hearing in Amherst General District Court. The juveniles have not been charged.
