City officials charted a plan to buy a property for a facility to house a transportation station and hope to get $3.2 million in a state grant.

They don't know where the possible station will be exactly, but are looking to between 1st Street and Market Street.

Officials say the boarding platform should be in place by January 2017, however if a new train station will be built, it may take a few years longer.

Planning officials have also considered combining the bus station with the proposed train station.
