Huckabee is no stranger to Southwest Virginia. He gained plenty of support from our area during his first presidential bid in 2008.

"John McCain beat me here but I had a little over 40 percent of the vote with most of it coming from Southwest Virginia," he said. "As I look at the future, it's building on the base that I had when I ran before and then trying to get voters that didn't know who I was eight years ago."

Huckabee expects to run but won't make a final decision until this spring.
