Statement released:Â
Virginia Western Community College has cancelled the remainder of its 2014-15 men's basketball season. The season was the Rapids' first at the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) level and participation proved to be more complex and challenging than expected. To complete the season and adequately compete with more established and better-funded programs was not feasible. There are not plans to play at the NJCAA level next year, but the College will continue to offer athletics opportunities. Virginia Western thanks its student-athletes for their hard work and dedication as well as the Rapids fans for their support. The Virginia Western men finish the season with a 0-20 record.Â
