The United States Geological Survey confirmed on Thursday that a magnitude 2.5 earthquake struck in Goochland.

USGS recorded the earthquake occurring around 3:50 a.m. Thursday.
The epicenter was pinpointed 2 miles north northeast of Goochland, 24 miles west northwest of Richmond.
The geographic coordinates provided by USGS, 37.709N 77.868W, put the epicenter in Maidens, VA.
