BEDFORD CO. (WSLS10) -Renovations will begin this week on the Bedford County courthouse. The original bell tower is in need of repair.
Crews haven't made structural repairs since it was built in the 1930's. The tower has received new coats of paint over the years, but county leaders say the tower is now leaking, causing water damage.

According to the County Administrator the renovations will cost nearly $700,000.
Crews will repair the structure of the steeple and replace parts the roof. Construction is expected to take several weeks.
