CHRISTIANSBURG (WSLS 10) - Christiansburg police said Mark Faville killed himself with a non-metallic object after being found guilty of voluntary manslaughter in a Montgomery Co. court in April.Ā
Police could not release any additional information until an autopsy has been completed. They are waiting for toxicology results, which could be finished in a few weeks.
Faville was found guilty of voluntary manslaughter in the 15-year-old case of his wife, Anne Mickey Faville's, death. Shortly after the decision was read in a Montgomery County courtroom, a commotion is said to have been heard as Faville was being lead to a holding room.
Later that evening, the Christiansburg Police Department released a statement saying investigators were conducting a death investigation at the Montgomery County Courthouse following an incident that occurred just after 3:00 p.m. Friday.
Mark Ward Faville was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators said they believe Faville died from a self-inflicted wound. The investigation is ongoing.
