In order to enter, they invited fans to nominate a local fire department for a prize of $500 and five cases of energy shots to help fuel them through the summer.
Although they did not ultimately win the grand prize, Roanoke Fire EMS was mentioned out of hundreds of entries detailing inspiring stories about firefighters and first responders who protect and serve our communities.
This was Roanoke's mention:
All firefighters work tirelessly for others, but Roanoke Fire-EMS Station 5 gives so much to the community and support each other. Their location is extremely busy, but they don't complain.
