ROANOKE, Va. (WSLS 10) - For the first time in 60 years, "The Big Three" steam locomotives are all back in Roanoke. Railroad staff moved them into place Sunday. It's the first time they've been together since the 1950s.
The Big Three consists of the Class-J 611, the Class-A 1218 and the Class-Y 2156. Each engine was built in Roanoke.

The three engines are currently sitting on the outdoor tracks near the museum but will soon be stored inside a 3-track facility.
Officials say the spot will be the new home of a locomotive storage and display house called the Preservation & Education Center.
Museum officials broke ground for the project Sunday and it's expected to finish construction next year.
