(WSLS 10) - Communities across southwest Virginia gather in prayer Wednesday - remembering the lives of two WDBJ7 staff members, and praying for quick recovery for a third victim with the Smith Mountain Lake Chamber of Commerce.
A prayer vigil was scheduled Wednesday evening in Moneta for Vicki Gardner. The vigil will be at Bethlehem United Methodist Church, 13586 Old Moneta Road, Moneta, Va.

Gardner underwent emergency surgery at Roanoke Carilion Memorial Hospital after being shot during a live interview at Smith Mountain Lake.
A prayer vigil at Bedford's Reality Ministries International is scheduled for Wednesday evening at 7 p.m. The address is 737 Blue Ridge Avenue, Bedford, Va.
Another vigil in honor of the victims scheduled with members of the Vitalize Church. Vigil participants were asked to meet in the lower section of the Westlake Cinema parking lot.
Meanwhile, makeshift memorials were forming outside the WDBJ7 studios. Members of the community, WDBJ7 crews - both past and present - as well as local and national media gathered near the station to leave flowers and memories of reproter Alison Parker and photographer Adam Ward.
