Crews investigated the interior and roof of the business and found the fire originated in the kitchen area and the restaurant's suppression system had activated and extinguished the flames. Firefighters also discharged a fire extinguisher in the hood system to make sure the flames were out.
Fire Investigators determined that there was a fire inside the ventilation duct work for the broiler unit. The flames were contained to the duct work and there was no structural damage. The restaurant will remain closed until the hood suppression system can be repaired and cleaned.
Damage estimates are figured at $10,000 for expenses incurred with cleanup and product loss. No injuries were reported.
