CARROLL CO. (WSLS 10) - The Wildwood Commerce Park in Carroll County got one step closer to welcoming in businesses.
The 120-acre plot off Interstate 77 just received site certification. That means all the environmental tests have been completed, and the electrical infrastructure is in place for companies to begin building there.

The goal is to bring in 450 jobs and $250 million in investment.
This is a joint project between Carroll and Grayson counties and the city of Galax.
Ken McFayden of Blue Ridge Crossroads Economic Development Authority said, "We know that by developing this site and attracting the attention of outside investment coming into southwest Virginia and into our three localities, that we will deliver greater economic prosperity for our citizens, and that's what it's all about."
So far, about 25 companies around the country have shown interest in Wildwood Commerce Park.
