MARTINSVILLE (WSLS 10) - An 18-year-old woman died on Thursday from injuries she suffered during a bicycle accident on Sunday.
On Sunday, April 3, at about 5:50 p.m., Martinsville Police and Fire responded to a bicycle accident in the 900 block of Banks Road. They found an unresponsive and not breathing Ruth Oluwabukunola Omolola.

Police say she was apparently traveling on Banks Road down the hill and as she approached the curve near the bottom of the hill, the bike traveled off the left side of the roadway. She was discovered by someone passing by the area of the accident.
On Thursday, shortly after 2 p.m., Omolola died.
She had been unconscious at Roanoke Memorial since the accident.
