LURAY, Va. (AP) - A Shenandoah National Park spokeswoman says a rental cabin and 14 trails and fire roads have been closed as crews continue to battle wildfire that has burned more than 5,600 acres.
Sally Hurlbert says the fire came within 100 yards of another structure, but firefighters were able to protect it. No property damage or injuries have been reported.

The fire was first reported over the weekend and continues to grow. Hurlbert says about 250 firefighters, some from as far away as New Mexico and Colorado, were battling the blaze Thursday with the help of four helicopters, two fixed-wing tankers and six fire engines. Low humidity contributed to the fire's intensity.
Hurlbert says the largest fire in the park's history scorched more than 23,000 acres in 2000.
