Nationwide Homes to expand production operation in Martinsville

MARTINSVILLE (WSLS 10) - Nationwide Custom Homes is planning to expand its production in Martinsville, creating 59 new jobs.

Nationwide's president said the project costs $986,342 and comes in two phases. The project involves up-fitting one of the four plants at the Rives Road site to extend its production line. This will increase production by 35%. Phase one is expected to start in 90 days and take about 6 weeks to complete. The second phase will take four weeks to complete. The company has already hired 15 new employees and expects to hire 20 people for the first phase and another 24 for phase two.

The Martinsville-Henry County Economic Development Corp. has approves a $100,000 grant to help fund the expansion. The money will be split between the two phases.

Nationwide produces modular housing for single and multi-family residential markets.
