CHRISTIANSBURG (WSLS 10) - Girls in the New River Valley are honing their skills in a traditionally male environment.
New River Community College is hosting a week-long camp called Girls Get IT.
Forty-two middle and high school girls are learning and practicing robotics, 3D printing, cybersecurity and game and app design.
This is the camp's second year, and organizers said the interest is growing significantly.
This year, there are students from each New River Valley county.
The camp is free of charge, thanks to a $17,000 federal grant.
