God's Pit Crew collects multiple semi trucks full of supplies for West Virginia

DANVILLE (WSLS 10) - Semi trucks full of bottled water and other supplies head to West Virginia to assist flood victims.

The donations are being donated by God's Pit Crew.

On Tuesday, the organization began a two day collection blitz in an effort to get more supplies for the flood victims.

Since the 24, God's Pit Crew has sent eight truck loads of supplies, completely emptying out their warehouse.

Wednesday, volunteers at the Sam's Club in Danville say they filled one truck Tuesday and even had to get a second truck for their location in Galax on Tuesday as well.

"Oh, it's fantastic," said volunteer George Rhamy. "I've never lived in a place like Danville. But, it's not only Danville; Southside. In Galax, we filled a trailer up from ten o' clock in the morning until seven o' clock at night. We had to go take an empty one and bring that one back already."

The Danvilel YMCA is also helping God's Pit Crew collect donations for the flood victims.

People who sign up by July 15 and bring in a case of water will have their sign up fee waived.
