NBC Olympics.com – United States weightlifter Morghan King finished sixth in the Women's 48kg weight class and wasn't able to end the country's 16-year drought of not winning a medal in the category.
But she should still be happy with her performance in her Olympic debut.

King set an American record with an 83kg (182.9 lbs) lift in the snatch. The previous record was set by Tara Nott (82.5kg/181.8 lbs) in 2000 at the Sydney Olympics. She also added a 100kg lift in the clean and jerk to end with a total of 183.0kg (403.4 lbs), falling just 2kg (4.4 lbs) short of her personal best.
"The snatch was something I've been working on for a long time. The clean and jerk, I knew it was going to be a lot tougher. But, I'm happy," King said. "I still have to pinch myself that I was out there. You are in the moment and focusing on your lift, then just trying to do your best, and then it's all over. It's kind of surreal."
