Former Virginia Tech runner medals in Rio
BLACKSBURG (WSLS 10) - A Hokie graduate got a major win at the Rio Olympics.
Kristi Castlin won the bronze medal in Rio Wednesday in the 100-meter hurdles. She finished in 12.61 seconds.
Castlin and her two teammates took all three top spots in the race.
She graduated from Virginia Tech in 2010 and her college coaches said they knew even back then she had the chance to do something special.
Her coaches also said they hope to see Castlin compete in the 2020 Olympic games in Tokyo.
