HDT Global announces closure of Buena Vista plant at year's end
BUENA VISTA (WSLS 10) - HDT Global announced on Monday that it's closing its manufacturing plant in Buena Vista.
The facility will close on December 31, 2016 and the operations will be transferred to Huntsville, Alabama.
HDT Global makes shelters, generators, heaters, air filtration devices, robotics and other engineered technologies, currently used by U.S. and allied military units worldwide, as well as civilian government and commercial customers.
In addition to leaving Buena Vista, the company announced it also plans to consolidate operations in the Fredericksburg/Spotsylvania Virginia area to a new built-for-purpose facility, which will expand its capabilities and facilitate innovation and product development.
These strategic decisions were thoughtfully made, with the benefit to the warfighter and to the organization at the forefront, according to a press release from HDT Global.
