Roanoke Police make arrest after string of bank robberies

ROANOKE (WSLS 10) - Roanoke Police arrested a man after a string of bank robberies in the city.

A grand jury indicted 35-year-old Benjamin Chastang on five different felony robbery-related charges.

The charges stem from robberies at BNC Bank in Roanoke last month and robberies at Suntrust and BB&T Bank in December.

Police say Chastang is a convicted felon and had guns.

He is being held in the Western Virginia Regional Jail without bond.

Police are still looking for who robbed a BB&T in Christiansburg in January and Carter Bank & Trust in Roanoke County
