DANVILLE, Va. – Danville police and firefighters are making sure they're prepared to respond to calls in one Danville neighborhood now that railroad work is underway there.
Access to the Pine Tag neighborhood will be limited over the next two weeks as work is done on the railroad tracks at the neighborhood's only entrance.
The Police Department has a car parked in the neighborhood so that officers are able to respond to any calls there.
The Fire Department also has an engine parked at the Danville Golf Club, which is located in the neighborhood.
The city is in the process of purchasing land to build a permanent emergency-access road for the neighborhood in case a call comes in while the neighborhood's entrance is blocked by a train.
