ROANOKE, Va. – Some of Carilion's youngest patients got a special surprise visit from the Salem Red Sox Wednesday.
Two of the baseball players along with the team’s mascot, Mugsy, visited the Carilion Children’s Hospital.
They gave some of the kids a warm handshake, a signed baseball, and a photo.
Patient, Cristofer Mendiola even got his T-shirt signed by a player.
“I was so excited. I got to shake their hands, take a picture, and tell them good luck on their games. I wish that I could live with them,” Mendiola said.
Mugsy and the players and met with several kids throughout the morning.
