LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Bob Evans restaurant in Lynchburg has permanently closed its doors.
The restaurant shut down over the weekend.

A spokesman for the chain said:
"To assure Bob Evans Restaurants can maintain the stability of our business and build toward a vibrant future, we must make some tough decisions. The closure of our Lynchburg location is one of those changes. By closing underperforming locations, we can focus on our core brand and on aligning our marketing and operational efforts. We are grateful to our local restaurant employees and managers for their service and to our loyal guests who have visited the Lynchburg restaurant for many years."
The company did not respond when asked if any changes were planned for its other location in Wytheville.
