1 dead after car crashes, catches fire Body taken to department of forensic science for identification

PITTSYLVANIA CO., Va. – One person is dead after a Sunday afternoon crash in Pittsylvania County.
State police said a 2012 Cadillac SUV was driving on Riceville Road when it went on the roadway, hit a tree and caught on fire Sunday afternoon at 4:35 p.m.
The driver died at the scene.
The body has been sent to the Virginia Department of Forensic Science in Roanoke for identification.
The crash is under investigation.
