Police: Argument sparks shooting in Northwest Roanoke

Dispatch says it was at the Triangle Mart


ROANOKE, VA. – Roanoke police say a man is recovering from gunshot wounds after a shooting early Sunday morning.

It happened around 2:30 a.m. at the Triangle Mart on Cove Road in the Northwest section of the city. 

Police have not yet made any arrests, but officers say the investigation is ongoing.

The victim, who has not been named, was taken to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. He is expected to recover. 

Police say this started as a verbal argument that escalated. They have not identified the shooter. 

Police do not believe the public is in danger, as this was an isolated incident.
