Woman found dead at Henry County mobile home park; no obvious signs of foul play

Cause of death not yet determined

HENRY COUNTY, Va. – Thursday's autopsy showed no obvious signs of foul play or homicide, according to the Henry County Sheriff's Office.

The complete autopsy report will be pending toxicology and additional testing.  

The cause and manner of death remain unknown at this time.


ORIGINAL STORY (Oct. 9, 2019)

Deputies are investigating after a woman was found dead at a Henry County mobile home park. 

Deputies say they were called to the home around 5:03 a.m. for a well-being check when they found Catherine Evans McDaniel, 57, of Ridgeway, dead inside the home on Staples Avenue.

They say there doesn't appear to have been a struggle, but that they are treating this as a homicide, which is standard.

A local medical examiner responded to the scene to assist with the investigation.  

The cause and manner of death are unknown at this time and an autopsy is scheduled for Thursday.
