Amber Alert issued for missing Virginia teen with 'armed and potentially dangerous' man

Isabel Hicks, 14, was last seen early Monday morning

The FBI and Virginia law enforcement are now one week into their search for a missing Louisa County teen believed to be with a 33-year-old man.

Authorities gave an update Monday on their efforts to find 14-year-old Isabel Hicks, who is believed to be with 33-year-old Bruce Lynch.

Investigators say there are several places of interest as to where Hicks and Lynch could be, but at this point, they don't know where they are.

Authorities have asked the public to be on the lookout for a 2003 blue Toyota Matrix.

The car is missing the door handle for the rear passenger door, and there could be a camouflage tarp inside covering the passenger side.

Authorities believe Lynch could be changing the tags of the car, so they want the public to focus on the car and who is inside.

Lynch left with camping gear, so the two could be camping, but authorities say they're following up on all tips and possible sightings.

Authorities had a message for Bruce Lynch.

"Bruce, as parents, let us appeal to you: you know Isabel should be home safe with her family, warm, rested, protected. I'm sure you want what's best for her. Please return Isabel to a safe location, or contact us and let us know how we can help you reunite her with her family," said Dave Archie, the FBI special agent in charge of the case.

Authorities say anyone who sees Hicks and Lynch should call police immediately and not approach them because they believe Lynch has a handgun.

Hicks was last seen Monday morning at her home at 3472 Crewsville Road, Bumpass, Virginia, which is in Louisa County, east of Charlottesville.

On Sunday, authorities in Logan County, West Virginia, said she may be in the area of southern West Virginia.

Why it took more than 4 days to issue an Amber Alert for a missing Virginia teenage girl

The FBI considers Lynch armed and potentially dangerous and said people are told to not approach him if they see him.

Lynch is believed to be armed with a 9mm handgun and had recent suicidal ideations.

Authorities believe Lynch may be driving a light blue, almost silver, 2003 Toyota Matrix with Virginia tag VEM-9071.

Isabel and Lynch may be staying in wooded areas conducive to camping, according to the FBI.

Anyone with information that may help find Isabel is asked to call the Richmond Division of the FBI at 804-261-1044.
