Two men shot by the person living in the Lynchburg home they tried to burglarize, police say

Police say both suffered non-life-threatening injuries

LYNCHBURG, Va. – Two men are in the hospital after police say there were shot during their attempted home invasion.

Early Wednesday morning, the two knocked on the home’s door and assaulted the resident before trying to enter the home; however, the resident shot both suspects, according to police.

At 1:40 a.m., police responded to the 100-block of Wooldridge Circle for a report of a burglary in progress.

Officers arrived to find that both suspected burglars had suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Both James Franklin, 27, of Roanoke, and Alan Douglas Mould, 26, of Lynchburg, are charged with breaking and entering and assault and battery.
