FRANKLIN COUNTY, Va. – UPDATE - Dec. 12 at 3:01 p.m.
Virginia State Police are investigating a crash that happened on U.S. Route 220 in Franklin County late Saturday morning.
At 11:25 a.m., police said they responded to a single-vehicle crash.
Authorities said a Toyota Camry traveling on Route 220 ran off the road and overturned near Brookledge Lane.
According to police, there is one confirmed death.

Drivers headed north should avoid part of U.S. 220 in Franklin County if they can.
At about 11:40 a.m., a crash nearly nine miles north of VA-57 in Franklin County caused all northbound travel lanes to close as first responders are at the scene.
